Slave Rebellion Reenactment (SRR) Machine Sewing Workshop
About Sewing Workshops and Slave Rebellion Reenactment:Sewing circles are gathering places for folks to meet and discuss politics. Historically, they functioned as a space to support political causes through the artistry of sewing. The Slave Rebellion Reenactment project will host a series of sewing circles and costume workshops as a way to spark conversation and community engagement around a reenactment of the largest armed rebellion of enslaved people in United States history.About this workshop:A FREE workshop hosted by Antenna and ricRack Inc. will focus on machine sewing and repurposing thrifted clothing in order to make costumes for the Slave Rebellion Reenactment. Open to beginner sewers. All materials will be provided, just bring yourself. Please arrive on time at noon and RSVP seating is limited. Light refreshments will be provided.
