Sewing Rebellion NOLA @ Paper Machine
Sewing Rebellion NOLA @ Paper Machine Hosted by Faux Frau Jeannie Stop shopping and start sewing! Have jeans that are too long for you? Trousers with rips in them? Shirts that hang on you like a cheap tent rather than flattering your figure? Don't get your panties in a bunch; bring those ill-fitting and well-worn pieces to repair at The Sewing Rebellion rather than throwing them away, and leave with clothes that are better than new! Bring your pants to mend, garments to alter, sewing problems which need solutions or an old piece of cloth to combat the use of plastic bags, by producing an East German shopping bag. Different repurposing project instructions are provided each month, and/or come by with your own sewing/altering projects to work on. Sewing machines and sewing tips provided. No prior sewing experience required to participate. Drop-ins welcome. Free to attend! Donations graciously accepted, but not necessary in order to participate. Sewing Rebellion is organized by the Institute 4 Labor Generosity Workers & Uniforms (ILGWU), the governing entity and experimental factory that houses the ongoing and archived projects of Frau Fiber, former textile worker, activist and symbol of the lost generation of East German workers.
