We are dedicated to providing both a superior scientific program and an opportunity for you to network and build relationships with attendees and our members. Your organization provides products and services important to the otolaryngology community. We strive to offer exhibitors and sponsors ample opportunities to meet with attendees throughout the symposium. Your participation is critical to the success of our event. The AAO-HNS Trauma Committee and the Society of Military Otolaryngologists’ Trauma Symposium will present “Modern Management of H&N Trauma: Non-Vascularized Grafts and Trauma Care in the Developing World” at 5 pm, Saturday, September 14th, in New Orleans.l. This event, open to military and civilian attendees, includes a reception, dinner, awards, and displays. Dr. Mark Stalder, a plastic surgeon out of LSU in New Orleans, will lead a panel discussion discussing the complex management of head and neck injuries using non-vascularized grafts. This panel will include a multi-disciplinarian team of military and civilian experts in head and neck reconstructive surgery. Dr. Travis Tollefson from the University of California, Davis and Dr. David Shaye from Massachusetts Eye and Ear Institute will give an inspiring talk on their experiences providing trauma care abroad in developing nations. The Society of Military Otolaryngology (SMO) has a rich heritage serving the military otolaryngology community since 1952. Members have advocated for excellence in patient care for service members injured during multiple wars and conflicts as well as during peacetime. The AAO-HNS Trauma Committee mission is well aligned with SMO to educate and update the Otolaryngology community regarding the state-of-the-art evaluation, emergency management, and reconstruction of head and neck trauma. The annual event serves the otolaryngology community by educating guests on the latest wartime and peacetime advances in head and neck trauma management. It also spearheads research evaluating head and neck trauma management and mass casualty protocols.
